Pros

Easy going, open and honest work environment. You never feel like anyone is out to get you and the environment is very collaborative. The leadership at Intuit has evolved to be more innovative and risk taking. Before, one of the reasons to work for Intuit was that you had a job with a nice safe company. The voice of employees matters to the highest leaders. This company sticks by it's 10 operating values like it's nobody's business.

Cons

The company seems to be stuck to the past. Also, employees have no strong incentive to share their best ideas. The best ideas come from those with the capitalist instinct. An iPod as compensation for a great ideas is a joke.

Pros

Good compensation, excellent benefits package, cafeteria and gym onsite, and they pay for education. Good work-life balance, except during the tax season. It is possible to get away without working much, and many people do.

Cons

People are mediocre at best, lazy and incompetent at worst. Managers yell, scream, and call people in to work on Saturdays. Meetings take a better portion of the day, and it's important to go and agree with the powers that be. People are punished for bad decisions, but are not rewarded for good ones, therefore it is very hard to get to a decision at all. Discussions go on for weeks and months. There is a general culture of firefighting - the most brownie points go to the person fighting the biggest fires, never mind that those are generally the people who caused the fires in the first place.

Pros

Great people and the benefits are pretty good. There's room for growth in some departments but not really in IT.

Cons

IT can be very disfunctional. We have gone through our share of CIO's. Some of the leaders feel they are qualified to set technical direction which leaves the rest of us scratching our heads.
