Pros

Fantastic supporters of work-life balance. A customer-first culture that is reflected in every decision made. A work community where learning happens (and is strongly encouraged) at all levels, not just the trenches. Informal and laid back work atmosphere.

Cons

Some projects have many layers of buearuocracy that cause annoying lags in communication and decision making. Lacks a young workforce - not a fun social environment to work in if you are single and in your 20s. Mountain View campus is nice on the outside, but the workspaces are dull and boring.

Pros

In general, Intuit has a very pleasant culture. People make an effort to help each other out, and most of my projects have been surprisingly uninhibited by personality clashes, political wrangling, etc. My managers have made an effort to give me interesting projects, constructive feedback, and a reasonable work-life balance.

Cons

It's hard to work across the street from Google and not be a little envious of the free food, laundry, and shuttle service. I would make more money if I went to work for someone else, but I guess that's true of most jobs. Finally, it can sometimes be frustrating to work at a bigger, more established company where projects don't happen as quickly as you want.
