Pros

The Plano location is riding the coattails of other bigger and better business units in California. Perhaps you can milk that California goodness for a while too. People are mostly nice (at least to your face). The company offers great benefits.

Cons

This location does not have much to offer in the way of dynamism or growth. All the so-called leaders are content with maintaining growth through increased prices. In engineering, especially, you can expect to get promoted if you are either a woman or play cricket. Oh! by the way, do not even think of doing anything innovative. Your manager or program manager will steal it right under you for an award.

Pros

I've been at Intuit for a little under a year an half now, and all in all, I like the company. Some bullet points are: Great benefits, invested in improving their employees, company culture isn't an afterthought. They're also actively working to bring modern tools and technology into the development stack allowing us to do some pretty cools things

Cons

Sadly while the culture is great, and the public facing technology is what you would expect from a modern SaaS company, the immediate tools they allow you to work with are not. It's fairly obvious the their IT organisation is pretty old school. While offering both Macs and PC's, the PC's are behemoths and not fun to carry around. They're so loaded with security software trying compensate for Window's poor security that you're lucky if the batteries last an hour sometimes. Sadly the Mac's aren't much better. Using a modern Linux distro isn't even allowed so you're stuck with 2 poor options for development environments. I often feel like the policies and infrastructure their IT org has put in place is actively trying to prevent me from getting my work done. Oh, I almost forgot to mention they've also installed keyloggers on their laptops. Nothing says you don't quite trust your employees like key loggers, ehh?

Pros

Good Intuit Benefits Flexible hours work from home as needed

Cons

If your resume doesn't have SAP, Micron, or Extended Systems on it, then you're not part of the old boys club. Your ideas will not be listened to. You will be given little autonomy on the direction of the product or choice of technologies, even if your decisions are backed up by reasonable arguments. Senior engineering leadership are digging in their heels and making the Intuit transition more painful than it needs to be. Negotiate your salary hard upfront. Once you are hired, it is difficult to get a decent raise. Management also doesn't seem to care about retention/equal pay for good employees

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are relentless in our efforts to make TSheets the best place to work in Idaho, and we can’t do that without listening to our employees – whether present or past. We’ve been extremely fortunate to build a team of top tech talent from the local universities, the Treasure Valley, and others who have come to TSheets from outside the state to share their experience and knowledge. We truly value each person’s contribution to our team and their passion for helping create solutions that make a difference in our customers’ lives. We strive to offer competitive salaries and benefits across the board, and employee compensation packages are something we keep a very close eye on to ensure equal and fair pay for all. It’s a constant and ongoing effort that our entire leadership team takes very seriously. Thank you for your contributions while you were here and we wish you the best of luck.
