Pros

Pros * Total compensation package was good ( pay, stocks, 401k matching ) * Beautiful campus and excellent food. * Amenities such as free food + beer on Fridays, free gym usage where other companies are charging employees ~$20 just to shower! * There is ton of diversity and some of the best people I've had a chance to work with.

Cons

* How many people does it take? Definitely too many cooks in the kitchen for certain jobs. * Always looking out for # 1, Always? - Promoting oneself always seemed to be among the top in a priority list, even when promoting means lip service. * Becoming too cushy - I've heard it once referred to as a "country club", while the environment is ok and the amenities are top notch, the daily work is something to be undesired. I referred to it as " a nice play to retire from without the security " since the fear of losing ones job is more evident. * Agile methods - the use of agile methodologies are used poorly and our "scrum masters" merely follow the process verbatim without questioning it's usefulness. How useful is a 1 hour scrum every day for a small group where the same regurgitated info is mentioned three times out of the week? I don't understand the use of explaining what we're working on when we clearly have it entered in 2-3 other areas throughout a monthly sprint. * Meeting junkies - Meeting place for everything, I mean everything! If it involves more than 2 people, that's automatic meeting place instead of just going over and speaking to the person(s).

Pros

Most people are great to work with. The development teams are full of great talent, and collaboration on the front line is excellent. Facilities are very good. What we produce is very good and I take great pride in our products. Senior leadership communicates often and is fairly in touch with the workers.

Cons

Compensation is not based on performance, or is at least very inconsistent and vague. Childish office politics and lack of respect for employees has grown in recent years. Almost a complete lack of leadership from middle management, who spend more time covering their own interests than those of their reports. Has shifted dramatically from an environment of development and creativity into a rampant focus on failure, fear, and discouragement.

Pros

I'm very impress by the senior management. Bright, hardworking, focused. And when they're wrong they say so and try something else. Can't say I've seen that anywhere else I've worked. It's refreshing and I think adds great value to the company. Salary and benefits are very good. And in my book, the #1 Pro... I'm in an environment where I learn something every day.

Cons

*Seeing that a course isn't working and resetting can wreak havoc on home life (hence the hefty compensation package). On the plus side, it's far better than mgmt with heads in the sand! *Too many meetings-I understand the whys but there's room for improvement.
