Pros

It's an office job. You don't have to lift boxes or dig holes.

Cons

Unless you work in Mountain View, you're going to get laid off. It might not be this year, but it's coming, guaranteed.

Pros

Good compensation, good benefits, good training and, great co-workers. I grew a lot in this position and learned a number of skills. I had a number of opportunities to participate in projects not related directly to my job but beneficial to the team.

Cons

It's stressful working with frustrated or angry customers whose only goal is to vent. This isn't so bad during off periods but during season you really need more of a break. There's also a tendency for a new project or process to be picked up and then discarded within months. It's still a large company and people are not always treated uniquely. Depending on your department, you could get dinged for unexpected absences (such as illness), even if you called in every time. They are, however, more generous than some companies in this regard.
