Pros

anything i could say here would be prefaced with "there used to be." everyone has been fired that drove positive changes.

Cons

The company was bought out a few months ago by an equity investment company, AKKR. Now we have a bunch of new managers that are cleaning house. They fired the executive team, a large number of managers across departments, marketing, sales, development, etc. They fired a number of people that have been here for years. The new managers are trying to trim as many people as possible to make the company much leaner. They flat out told us at the beginning of the acquisition that they want to make 50% of the developers here and 50% in South America. They seem to be prepping us to be flipped, so if you want to work somewhere and be a stepping stone to someone else's greater financial glory, this is the place for you. The equity company has a list of past conquests of theirs on their website. I can only assume that the SciQuest employees are not the first, nor will we be the last.

We recognize that the past several weeks have been difficult. The changes our new leaders have made were necessary to move SciQuest forward. The positive change is just beginning. Yes, SciQuest looks different today than it did a month ago, however the same good people that were here before are still here now. SciQuest has become a better, stronger company built on a great workforce that listens to customers and responds to market demands with industry-leading products.

Pros

There used to be some decent people to work with, but I've heard there's been a large exodus. (of mostly talented people).

Cons

Products don't work well together. A bunch of products that were once separate companies that don't work well together (if at all) Management: blind to what's going on around them. "Feedback is a Gift" according to Mr. Wiehe. This is true, BUT ONLY IF YOU LISTEN TO IT (unfortunately this applies to customers feedback as well) I could go on but no time

Pros

When I first started working for SciQuest it was a great culture, great people, everyone supported each other in a collaborative way with the customer in mind. Once we had the IPO, we lost our COO and hired a VP HR and hired a new CFO, things really changed for the worse.

Cons

The Executive Team really lost touch of promoting a culture and environment where customers and people were first. We lost flexibility and we stopped empowering people. Instead, we focused and communicated a "butts in seats" type of mentality and started to lead by fear - the CEO started yelling at people again, the new HR team could not be trusted, the Finance Management Team focused on $ only - everything changed and has significantly declined ever since. How we treated people, employees lost all respect, it now was a job and no longer our passion. People stopped challenging and started shutting up. We lost our creativity and innovation and our ability to speak up - which is what made us go great in the first place.
