Pros

flexible hours good benefits good pay high percentage of people who care about their jobs, making a good product and making customers happy if you reach outside your cube, you can find people willing to help you (although they may or may not actually be able to help you) most customers are very happy recognition for hard work is there if you work for a good manager a lot of nice and caring people people are not just numbers here like they are at other companies - what you do here does make an impact for the company growth and our customers the product is interesting, vast and always changing so that you will never be bored if you are in a job that suits you

Cons

some of the management team is awful there is no "how-to" guide here...you have to be self-motivated and figure out how to do things for yourself and ask others when you need help if you want to move around to other jobs, you need to create that opportunity yourself, but I think this is true in most companies some departments/teams are cliquish some teams don't feel cohesive and the members compete with each other instead of working together growing very quickly and acquiring smaller companies...issues with integrating them and feeling like one company

Innovative, growing technology company

Pros

Good benefits, growth opportunities that exceed most in the area and relatively little bureaucracy. "Work hard, play hard" mentality (some beer Fridays, blocks of free tickets to local sporting events, health club membership, company-sponsored events / outings, etc.). "Lead or be led" culture, which often allows employees to take on what they can handle (vs. confining and rigid job definitions) and making it easier to positively impact key constituents. Company has been deliberate about bolstering the existing talent level across many areas. SciQuest has many fun, experienced and smart employees that are great to work with.

Cons

Company has high expectations for employees and holds them accountable. Tendency to offer candid and direct feedback. With a heavy reliance on agile methodologies and rapid growth, there are times when there is some ambiguity and uncertainty at the start of a project / year. Exciting for some, likely frustrating for others.

Couldn't be happier here...

Pros

Great work/life balance in my department; creative, passionate and motivated employees; thriving company that is continually hiring; innovative products; excellent benefits (hockey tickets, baseball tickets, beer Fridays) loyal customers; annual customer user conference continues to grow year after year. If you have a strong work ethic, and enjoy playing a role in the growth of a successful company, you will be happy here.

Cons

With two acquisitions in the last year, there are challenges with integrating remote offices and products, but it's not impossible.
