Pros

Great training place if you wish to start up your career in taxation / accountancy. Opportunities for exposure to large corporate clients and knowledge in the mechanics of these corporations. Pay is competitive to the market Flexible time to come to work (not too late) and freedom in picking your days off so long it doesn't affect the delivery of work

Cons

Poor leadership in management (partner level), most of their time is preoccupied with business and clients rather than leading the units in right direction (or at least assign one with leadership ability to supervise the operation). Low motivation in going to work as the colleagues are clearly divided amongst the hierarchy, no bonding or whatsoever. Poor feedback system and appraisal rational, appraisal based on "comments" rather than realistic assessment of your strength and weakness, performance based on "how long you work tilled" rather than your intellectual level. Compliance team is production based, managers enforce on production rather than quality of work, whilst the seniors complaints about the quality when things are done out of rush. Lack of variety for compliance jobs, most of the time doing tax computation and dealing with accountants and admin tasks. People are generally robotised and numb as they climb up the ladder (and stucked) so they would expect you to be part of them. Most of the good performers are very meticulous in their work, but adhesive to the rules and policies in very rigid ways. A place work for survival / reasonable pay but with extra long hours (extreme in certain cases, a place lacking inspiration for further career development. So overall it causes low employee morales and high turnover rate when people is given a choice.

Pros

Very to good place to attend company parties..socials...9-5 job in certain pockets of KGS...all good if you are happy to do company profiles and excel copy paste work

Cons

Hahaha...where should I start. Let me start from the interviews HR promises 1. You get to work with top global clients (Yes...you make company profiles on their names for your onshore colleagues in US/Europe) 2. You work on best projects (Yes...your onshore colleagues work on them and you assist them in copy/pasting data or helping them with small bits and pieces of information) 3. Your salary will get adjusted in your first appraisal - Yes...they will make sure you don't get a good hike and adjust your salary to below market levels... Business interview 1. You will be interviewed by an onshore as well as offshore team (local team which sits in Gurgaon). Your onshore team will tell you that they will be your main colleagues and be responsible for your appraisal/feedback etc...Oh Oh Oh..wait..Did you just forget that you got an Indian manager sitting on top of your head here and he will be the one who puts you down during the appraisal process. Most favorite appraisal line - "We will try your promotion case but it seems hard this year" When you start working - 1. From day one..your manager will tell you that there is an urgent piece of work which needs to done for some Mr. X/Y/Z in Europe/US and we need to send this tonight or tomorrow (You will wonder that if you were not hired and joined ...who would have done that ???). Remember - Everything is urgent and important except for your need to go and attend a nature call 2. You will hear your feedback from onshore colleagues that formatting was not right..lines were not proper..alignment was out and they will also teach you that on phone...hahaha...no intelligent conversation will be done with you...bcoz you were hired to do low end work and not projects...lol 3. When you work with your onshore colleagues - its your duty to send them reminders to check your work and call them everytime and be polite with them...following up with them is always your duty...If they don't answer your call that is not a problem...but if you miss their call....lol 4. Work hours - Dude...didnt get it till now...The more "Hours you have in your timesheet...the better it is" Appraisal 1. The more Amul you had given to your senior...the better it is! 2. I wonder how they decide who is better on the basis of company profiles or copy pasting work ...or excel to pdf copy..Looool Some favorite tag-lines 1. This is urgent and important. It needs to go out asap 2. Can we site to discuss it - "You are in trouble dude" 3. I have got this very critical piece of work from US/Europe for you - Dude...more company profiles or lot of copy paste work In the end...I am glad I left it at the right time and enjoying much better career prospects and respect!
