It has its moments.....

Pros

It's a good place to get a known name on your resume.

Cons

If you have any intention of learning anything or moving up, be wary of staff augmentation engagements, particularly in the federal space, where you will be warehoused and forgotten about while the rest of the firm enjoys the spoils of the customary "just short of the mark" annual revenue result. Be prepared to leave in 2-3 years when you finally realize, that despite your best efforts, nobody really has an interest in seeing you move up or grow. The promotion/compensation roadmap is deliberately ambiguous and overly dependent on the oratory and case-making ability of an individual who may not even work with you and/or even have your best interests at heart. If you are veteran transitioning from active service, understand that even if well qualified, you are mere window dressing to satisfy a veteran hiring goal. You are behind your peers who did not serve, or serve as long, and you will stay behind, regardless of your experience, qualifications and education. Yes, I am a vet. If you are a glutton for punishment go to another Big 4 firm, at least you'll be paid better.

Pros

Vacation Time, not many other pros

Cons

Long hours, management not supportive of working mothers (their solution is to move the employee to an internal role), senior management does not back their team and only care about metrics, being encouraged to NOT charge time to the client

Pros

None at all and not even the “brand” name

Cons

Risk consulting lacks leadership and management (and pretty much everything. The seniors barely know anything and make embarrassing mistakes infront of clients on a regular basis. The waistcoat brigade have ZERO technical knowledge, no idea how to respect people and often make inappropriate remarks. They love gossiping and doing sub-standard work for their clients and also share confidential staff issues with each other. Basically a bunch of deluded people who hide behind a failing brand name.. nowhere near as good as the other big 4 and the news headlines are a very fair reflection of that! They have been trying to hire people for the last two years and nobody joins the team. After spending sometime there, you can see why! So glad I managed to jump off this sinking ship..
