Pros

Great exposure/experience Smart co-workers Generous time off

Cons

Since most employees are competent, how likable you are becomes the differentiator (this could be a pro or a con depending on your personality) Near flat raises/bonuses at the moment A good number of in-charge Seniors aren't ready for the responsibility Since there is little to no leeway in the firms structured compensation/promotion plan it's a near guarantee that the best/brightest will at some point leave for greener pastures

Pros

I like the flexibility that KPMG offers in terms of my schedule. I am not an early bird, so I tend to come into work a little later and work later in the evening than most of my colleagues. Also, I'm able to easily take a hour or two off for a doctor's appointment or any other misc errand I have to run during the day as long as I am able to manage my projects and meet deadlines. No one hovers over my work or micromanages me.

Cons

Hours can be long during busy season. Also, as a manager, there are many more administrative responsibilities that I do not care for.

Pros

- Great chance to follow a lot of different projects, learning fast and improving your CV - Managers are highly qualified and really available in supporting you in developing new skills - Even during the 2008-2009 crisis no one was discharged - Senior consultants are given a healthcare insurance

Cons

HR management highly improvable: - few team building opportunities - really low salary compared with public commpanies - overtime is not directly paid (but bonuses are provided at year end) - Company car is provided but you are requested to pay around 150-180 € per month - Some time you will be required to work from 10-14 hours a day for a long period (1-3 months) or to work during week-ends - no international training opportunities. Internal training is not so good (the average duration of a course is 1 day) - few opportunities of having an international experience working for other international KPMG entities - meal tickets are not provided and a cafeteria service is not available
