Pros

KPMG has given me a good client experience and opportunity for learning. I think KPMG's trainings are invaluable and really help make the job easier. The people we work with are probably the very best thing about the job.

Cons

Work/Life balence is not always achievable. I am not sure about the other accounting firms, but in general I also think that KPMG does not compensate their people as much as others do.

Pros

KPMG is a Big Four. For audit or tax, it's as good as any of the other three. I get the sense that these other practices run very differently than the advisory practice. For SOX work, KPMG likely has the most experience than any of the other Big Four.

Cons

The last few years, the Advisory practice has been attempting to get into "consulting". The problem is that the risk management practices really don't let you do consulting. So, if you like finding problems for your clients, this is a good place to work. If you like solving those problems, this is not a good place.
