Pros

- probably after pwc the next best in terms of welfare - better working hours than audit overall - if you like high pressure and being so busy that you dont even have time to go toilet then this job is for you

Cons

- pay is 3k and 3.2k if youre FCH. fixed, non negotiable. lower than other big 4s - too much work, forever shortstaffed, not hiring enough people - certain seniors/(assistant) managers which you'll have to report to are outright mean and will bully you - everyone one is busy and unwilling to help/teach - no guidance at all, have to figure everything out on your own - they will not teach you how to do tax. they expect you to already know

Pros

- Great place to develop problem solving abilities. - Able to get CPA review program - You will gain analytic abilities, refine your communication abilities, and improve your Excel skills.

Cons

- I was working busy season hours for most of the year. Management is not aware of burnout. - Pay is low when compared with other big 4 and even lower when compared to the hours worked. - Goal setting is purely a ritual. No one tracks that. Goals can even be unrealistic. As long as you meet the hours, you are good. - People are not too friendly (at least in the RE practice). Comradery is very clustered. You either belong to a turf or you are by yourself ignored by others and added to side engagements (same with social events). - You can potentially run into managers with a toxic management style. - You will rarely be taught anything by a senior or manager. You learn on the go. This can be stressful and you could be belittled by the manager with the toxic style. - I was asked once "why are you taking PTO?" - Gossiping is a real thing here lol

Pros

Big 4 brand and wide network.

Cons

Staff disillusioned by archaic leadership with no people management skills. Large staff turnover. Poor work life balance and abysmal pay for junior staff. Behaviour is a big issue amongst senior leaders, with a boys club mentality often portrayed at social events.
