Pros

If you are in the right group in NYC, there are many opportunities. I think they do value the people. Just was not in the office I was working. Look to the NYC offices for the real KPMG experience, learning and opportunities. You will not get this in the Short Hills, NJ office.

Cons

I was an experienced hire manager with a mix of big4 and mid size background along with a handful of other experienced hires. All of which left, transferred or are currently miserable. The opportunities for manager level are nil. In 4 busy seasons learning has been non-existent for me. They had no concern to improve this for me. It made my working there miserable not feeling like I mattered or was part of the team. It was not just my view. Any experience hire had similar experience. You will be evaluated on a non big 4 standard due to all of the partners and senior managers being from a small mid size accounting firm. The upper management just do not "get" big 4 and seem to even be against it and think doing work the "Big 4" way is a joking matter. Many people leave here as a result of the attitude towards the staff. Sr. managers, who aren't going anywhere btw, clearly create a bad experience for the lower staff.

Pros

Driven Colleagues Sense of team camaraderie

Cons

Like the shadow monster in Stranger Things KPMG takes over your life re-arranging your priorities in favor of it's own gain Busy Season stretches out for at least half a year Budgets keep getting smaller and Scopes keep getting bigger Unhealthy work schedules are indirectly encouraged under the guise of being 'efficient' Poor engagement planning leads to employees being forced to take on ridiculous amounts of work in order to meet high utilization expectations There is the assumption that the budget is always right, and if the team exceeds it team/individual inefficiency is to blame

Pros

Good location, International brand, Good admin staff. There is nothing too good about this place. Good coffee place. Good health benefits.. there is nothing more to tell.

Cons

Not a good place to work. Not the same brand like other professional services firm. There is no transparency in the firm.
