Pros

Relaxed. A very easy going firm with very high fixed compensation Demands little and provides high work life balance only a non top tier firm can provide

Cons

Sinking ship clearly Partners are clearly non-performing and very juniors. Completely non inspiring. The whole firm probably has 25-30 REAL partners the rest are just senior managers delivering business. No real senior level connections in the industry Ability to place people in the industry is limited A real McKinsey and BCG envy with no ability to realize the growth ambitions

Pros

Decent projects Typically B clients, but interesting issues Some strategy

Cons

Huge issue with lack of bonus Horrendous work-life balance Complete faith in rating system Lots of cost transformations A.T. Kearney paid out its bonuses in the very end of February (2014) for 2013 work. Furthermore, A.T. Kearney, a firm that pays under the industry average at the lower ranks, paid no bonus to roughly 50% of employees. [About 15% are getting out-counseled]. The other 35% were not given a bonus. The bonus was completely tied to your annual performance evaluation, a system that is by no means at all perfect - and mostly flawed. Even folks who got promotions in 2013 were not consistently happy with their bonus as a percent of their new salaries. 'Leaving the firm' e-mails have like 5x'd because everyone is overworked and worked for that bonus - they're leaving when they don't get it.

Pros

The pay scale is nice, and you work with big-name clients on big-deal projects.

Cons

The working environment is very hierarchical and "old school," and places little value on teamwork and shared achievement. Creativity is not a welcomed trait, and work-life balance is irrelevant - be prepared for Sunday - Friday travel. Management tends to have an aggressive attitude towards associates and analysts, and criticism is lobbed with abandon - thick skin is a required accessory. One senior VP openly admitted that there are 5 people waiting in line for every job, and most employees stay less than 2 years, so it doesn't make sense for him to try to keep people happy or build a better culture.
