Pros

challenging (under-staffed and under-supported), never boring (100 different tasks/projects/requirements at a time). Probably won't go out of business any time soon or have massive layoffs.

Cons

No HR department, so your career progress is entirely up to you, until you ask for it. Decent benefits, but not as good as most companies and they are trickling the cost upward every year. COL raises the past few years are averaging ~2.5%. Met all the requirements for a substantial advancement and, without any opportunity for dialogue or negotiation, was handed a lesser promotion. Pay is universally sub-par from top to bottom (except for the very top), and our turnover is between 50-100% per year for those doing the diagnostic testing. I think typical of most F500 companies, the few are rewarded while the many are enslaved.

Pros

Good experience in a GLP laboratory. Training provided.

Cons

Lack of mental heath support, even feeling like your being shamed for poor mental health or struggling with aspects of the role. Lack of positive feedback or team building exercises created divides within the department and poor employee morale.

Pros

At three years I can still say it feels a lot like a small company. People seem to be VERY caring of one another, even at higher levels, much like the boutique firm I was with before this role. They demands of the role are very reasonable. Contrary to small firms, the Fortune 100 companies I endured years ago, communication about company goals and performance is rhythmic and calm; better than . At my stage of life, I can work wherever I like, and I think I will stay.

Cons

Perhaps a key rate limiter is their glacial adoption of new computer technology in core operations (excluding lab equipment). Average laptop age is above other similar-sized companies and some database systems are over 20 years old, and are actually comprised of multiple incongruent subsystems that make enterprise level analytics wildly complex. They are taking steps, but oh so slowly.
