      Pros

      As long as you're minimally competent at your job you can work here for a long time without being let go. Most jobs have several levels to them which allow for promotions and decent pay increases. Benefits aren't as good as they used to be but competitive overall.

      Cons

      Annual merit raises are often below inflating and without promotions pay would fall below market rate, which means moving jobs is a must to keep up with pay.
