Pros

-Last year around 20 people from Tech left Lam India.Great job young stars. Good work environment, govt job in India. Easy life, people join as fresher and stay till retirement.Every 6 months you receive an increment, provided you keep your lead and manager happy.travel to US for dev team only .9-5 job. overalll if you dont have dreams to learn technology, and you are silly, then its the best choice.

Cons

-PF transfer claim ,doesnt get approved every time you request through online portal(people are bit old fashioned,so only paper work){pathetic}it may take you a year to get your pf transferred .Not only with me,but a few more people are their in line. -Bad food, very bad,not sure how people are eating it up,and max seem comfortable with that .Even managers have their food outside office everyday. -no non veg allowed in cafeteria ,as MD is a veg guy, -Annual day does happen, but a boring one,no drinks,go and have pathetic food.FYI:drinks available for delegates separately -No cabs facility -,a lot of processes for a simple solution. -few who keeps on talking, and by 6 will leave the office, but dont prefer in finding a quick solution to a problem and solve it out. -A day before delegates visit to India, there would be announcement on dress properly, cleaning stuff will happen ,and suddenly for 2 days cafeteria food also improve, all sort of non-sense happens. -Your hard work will always be taken by your lead. -US should take control of the things happening at Lam India,or best is change the MD,people had enough of him.

Shift in Culture

Business Outlook

Pros

If you're in need of employment with limited alternatives, it can serve as a temporary workplace until you secure another opportunity.

Cons

There's a noticeable cultural shift underway, particularly since the company relocated its headquarters to Malaysia. This move has prompted a deliberate effort to shift labor away from US operations to Asian locations. Unfortunately, following the layoffs, a toxic culture has become prevalent. Taking a new position here can be precarious, often serving as a short-term role until management deems it unnecessary. Finding competent leadership in Lam, where expertise in processes and effective leadership are lacking, can be challenging. Decision-making tends to rely on hearsay or gut instincts, even though project management exists, with a tendency to overlook proper planning when implementing new ideas. There's a frequent push for progress, even though the outcomes may lead to downstream problems, requiring rework and ultimately resulting in cost-ineffective solutions. If you've joined Lam, hopefully, you negotiated your salary wisely, as the company struggles with employee retention.
