Strong growth streak right now, relatively stable even during down times (compared to its major rivals), team attitude, good pay and benefits.

Cons

Poor dining options on campus, poor parking lot capacity, often times the job is very demanding time-wise, sometimes the odor from the Alviso dump wafts into the buildings.

Pros

Lam has proven itself to be a company that cares about the employees who work for them. Most everyone that I have talked to have always had positive things to say and rarely do they view it as just another job. There are several resources available to learn about the different tools that they manufacture and there's a fairly good support structure built in to answer questions that come up. The company has very competitive benefits available to the employees. As a field engineer, the dynamic is a bit different since you work at a customer site, but the team that I have had to work with has been outstanding and just great people to be with.

Cons

As a field engineer, there are activities and events that you can miss out on being in the field. Some of the tool information can be a bit difficult to find due to the information coming from an acquired company, but I expect that to improve in time.
