Good from far, far from good

Pros

One of the leaders in laptop design

Cons

Despite their claims of dual HQ the US does not operate autonomously. Most direction is heavily influenced by Senior Mgt in Beijing. They've done a poor job at retaining good talent. Layoffs occur frequently. If you're one who has bounced between, HP, Lenovo and Dell I'd recommend to make a career change. There's only so much share-shift you can do.

Not for everyone

Pros

Competitive salary and historically better than industry bonus payouts. Great campus in Morrisville,

Cons

Company culture is very tough for many. More and more jobs are moving to China each year and most of the leadership has already. Work/life balance is tough (to non-existent) and concern for the employee well being is not apparent.

Pros

The best reason to work for Lenovo is their benefits package, including unlimited vacation and 6 months maternity leave for those based in the US. As a part of the global team, working remote, I enjoy a flexible schedule. Lenovo also has twice yearly reviews, where bonuses and merit increases are awarded.

Cons

Lenovo is a company of middle aged men pretending that they know how to market to millennials, without ever asking millennials their opinions. It's also a company that claims they run themselves like a startup, but really what that means is that after 10 years, they're still frantic and unorganized. While talent exists within Lenovo, it is rarely found at the executive level. A favorite quote among the executive team is "the strategy is clear", when generally they have not formulated a strategy at all. At Lenovo, you rise through the ranks because of company politics, not because you have proven your skill or helped the company achieve goals. While every team has a different dynamic and experience, I overall find the the corporate atmosphere to be unauthentic and uninspiring.
