Pros

Health benefits are second to no one else in retail. PTO accrual rate is generous. 401k plan is very competitive. Training WILL be good after they get the kinks worked out.

Cons

Quality of employees initially hired for new stores are lackluster. Training is a work in progress as a lot of money is wasted on classroom training that may not equate into actual results in-store. Retraining the same classroom topics to incompetent employees later on in-store most likely will be required (waste of Lidl's resources).

Pros

You get paid, I guess, but good luck getting your hours and actually getting the money you work for. I guess there are no pros unless you're a man and love to butt kiss.

Cons

They take money away from you when you don't get your hours. So if you leave the company, they'll demand money be paid to them. Managers aren't trained properly and such favoritism is frankly sickening. Treated like scum and you pretty much need a cloning machine to do everything and be in 5 different places at once. 10+ hour shift with only half hour break. Not allowed any longer as you need permission. I can go on and on.

Pros

Good Benefits Good Salary

Cons

Hard to advance or move positions, there is a huge problem with nepotism and favoritism. There are long hours with not much recognition, unless you are one of the favorites. You are looked down upon if you have a life outside of the company, as in, you have family obligations that limit your time to 40 hours a week. Not all of the managers are qualified because they just earned degrees and have no experience in managing individuals-- some who've actually had managing experience or previous professional experience. HR is a disaster depending on the section you have to deal with.
