Pros

Great pay for a supermarket

Cons

Expected to do so much so quickly. Ridiculous amount of time on tills without a break or a change over. Cold stores, no stores like to use there heaters! Lack of communication between management. Not trained fully.

Pros

- Cool mixed/open environment - Young workforce and lots of exciting people to meet and learn from - Willingness to try new technology and systems

Cons

- Outdated: Suits only and no work from home - Promotion: This is the most absurd part in Lidl US. People who got promoted are either putting in 16 hours/day (of course Saturday and Sunday count!). Lots of people got promoted after 4 or 5 months and they have no ideas what they are doing. These people are super young with unproven results yet but provided title "Senior manager". - The real "senior" management team is favorable on gender. I hate this say this but this is what I experienced during my time here. - Management team fails on recognizing hard working employees and believes as they think each person will need 2 years to adapt to multiple projects and can be assigned to new role. I have proven results from what was asked at the beginning but I had to leave in disappointment because that was a complete lie.

Pros

I like working at Lidl its easy and everyone I work with are nice people and I get along with them well. The pay is good.

Cons

Lidl do this thing called banked hours and if your manager doesn't give you your contracted hours then you get paid for your contract that month and they take them back off you the next month. My area manager didn't put my paternity form through so the next month I worked 140 hours and only received £350 because he didn't check his box. They took ages to get me my money back and thats why I'm leaving them as I was left with nothing that month and a family to feed.
