Pros

Reasonable rate of pay, work with and met some amazing people. You'll learn a lot about yourself in terms of how much your can physically and mentally take.

Cons

District Managers who have never pulled a pallet in their life expect the world from you. Never seem to appreciate all the hard work the staff put in. Regardless of blowing their targets out of the water they'll still find something to complain about and bring your morale down. Horrifically poor work/life balance. Expected to work for free to "save hours"

Pros

The pay, however, if you ever sit down and work out your wage based on your hours actually worked it's nowhere near as good as you think. Building relationships with the other members of staff who have to struggle through the same level of crap that you do.

Cons

Long brutal hours and shifts. Constantly understaffed and pushed to achieve the impossible despite the obvious staffing issues. It had softened in recent years to an almost bearable level but the months leading up to my departure had seen a new push on productivity to reach ridiculous and dangerous levels of staffing. No regard for employment law as regards to hours worked and adhering to contracts given out. Constantly bullying from hierarchy to achieve targets that aren't achievable. No health and safety, no cleaning or hygiene standards (don't buy stuff from the bakery because nobody ever has the time to clean it properly!!) no respect given to loyal staff and just generally a horrible company to work for that will steal your life and expect you give up any commitments at the drop of a hat. Finally, they quite happily ignore constant complaints from staff about certain abusive and bullying managers. Awful HR that are there for appearance and certainly don't full fill their job role in the slightest. Please please PLEASE don't take a job with this company. They will suck out your soul and leave you feeling empty and worthless.

Pros

The company allows you to grow and develop as it grows and develops. As long as you are willing to move with the times it's a fantastic environment to cultivate your skills as a manager. Career progression is eveident in every store, i myself began my career as a customer assistant. Fantastic new benefits package recently unveiled for store managers.

Cons

Hard physical work, very rigid procedures to adhere to. You get out what you put in basically.
