Pros

Work on the 9/80 work schedule which is pretty cool. Get to work on incredible projects and be a part of a great team. Decent job out of college that should help me in the future. Working alongside brilliant engineers. Not micromanaged at all. Very flexible work hours. I am treated like I have been working there for 10 years.

Cons

Very old school software development methodologies. Was told it would be a "fast, agile environment" but it is the complete opposite. Very process heavy. Tough for a new grad that was looking for a young atmosphere and collaboration between engineers. Pay is below average for software engineers out of school.

Pros

Fun challenging work, flex time, 9/80 schedule. Lower level management are all great. Co workers are very helpful and supportive.

Cons

Bureaucratic nonsense out the wazoo. Within my first six months they simultaneously announced that our location is shutting down and that there's a freeze on transfers. Fun. I'm in a cleared position and my salary is under the local median for my level for uncleared positions.

Pros

Flexible hours, some interesting problems. Very nice, very smart employees.

Cons

I wasn't developing. Many workers were trying to split their time across multiple teams which meant they couldn't focus on one project. Classified nature of work meant everything moved more slowly. Hard to get your hands on an unclassified computer, even if you need one for development. Company seemed to be cutting costs wherever they could. No bonuses. All the bureaucracy of working for the government combined with the wacky fun of working in an incredibly dull office.
