Pros

Cool and interesting projects all over the board. Anything you want to do, Lockheed probably does it somewhere. There is a lot of opportunity as a new hire to try different jobs and move around.

Cons

Very rigid military like culture. Processes are very outdated and there is a lot of resistance to any sort of change. This includes software tools and software development processes. Old cubes from the seventies and updates to work environment are very slow moving.

Pros

Cool products, excellent flexibility and work/life balance. Good people to work with.

Cons

Salary not great for software engineers. Because of the excess of 40-50 year old engineers, it is very hard for a young, high-achieving engineer to advance. Because of government customer, lots of red tape and paperwork. Cumbersome engineering processes.
