Very relaxed work schedule Plenty of vacation You get to work around airplanes

Cons

The job is not technically challenging, the technology moves very slow here. The company is very top heavy and provides very little opportunity for open competition for available positions to move up. Salaries are not competitive with the industry

-Very interesting projects that make a difference for our military -Flexibile schedule -Nice locations and facilities -Easy to relocate to new places and new positions within the company

Cons

-Very large company so you may find yourself doing a small part on a big project, thus not able to see the whole development lifecycle of your project -Government involvement means a lot of paperwork and procedure -Defense contractor means no bonuses

Pros

Compensation is good and overall a nice place to work. But if you want to get anywhere or position yourself for a spot on a new project, you have to know the right people.

Cons

Management gets moved up based on who they know not what they know. Medical benefits are now TERRIBLE. I had to practically share the cost of a 3 night hospital stay with the insurance company (around $1500) which would normally have been fully covered under our old plan.
