Pros

Lockheed Martin is perhaps the best place to get your foot in the door in the Government Contracting sector. At my site, management is flexible about how I put in my hours on any given week.

Cons

Lockheed Martin has some of the lowest pay in the sector, and the raises do not keep up with inflation. Regardless of your current responsibilities, they will not consider you for promotion until you meet the years of experience required for that position. It is difficult to grow technically here, as money for training and tuition reimbursement is carefully restricted.

Pros

Job stability, job satisfaction, career growth, ability to work on new technology, flexible schedule, good vacation policy, one of the few companies with a pension plan, good co-workers, the company has a good reputation and generally is impressive to say you work for Lockheed Martin

Cons

salaries are below average in Lockheed Martin's effort to reduce labor rates to the government, Lockheed Martin has been posting record profits lately despite also announcing lower then expected pay raises, despite Lockheed Martin's recent success they have been unable to utilize any profits to help employees with rising health care costs, working for a large corporation often gives the impression that the corporation does not care about the employees, Lockheed Martin's excuse is they are no worse than the average, they tout being just average for benefits and salary as if its attractive to employees rather than trying to be better than the competition like they should be

Pros

The best reasons would be the career mobility, being able to work in many industries within the same company and being able to work all over the country/world. The pay and benefits are reasonably good. I am happy with my level of responsibility and rate of promotion.

Cons

The upper management is very very removed from the "worker bees". There are many layers of management and it is possible to get lost in the crowd. Your direct manager makes a big difference in the quality of job you end up with. If they are stickler for all of the corporate policies the job might become unbearable. I am in the fortunate position to have a manager that understands how important the people are.
