It All Depends on the Exact Job

Pros

The size and breadth and diversity of such a huge corporation means that opportunities abound. It can also mean job security, and larger companies are better able to ride out "lean years"

Cons

Compensation is highly variable, and seems to be less about sheer technical competence and more about affiliation with programs that are favored by leadership. It's entirely possible to work on a project for several years and have a favorable experience, then then move to a different project with different management and a different team, and have a miserable experience. It's a crap shoot.

Stable job with incredible freedom for work life balance. Get a chance to work on very cool things and support the defense of the country.

Cons

The biggest issue is compensation, especially in software and other tech fields. The other issues are a lack of technical competence in the leadership chain and the thought that just hiring people and throwing them at problems solves them.

They take care of their people to try to retain them in contracts are lost or end. Also a low performer is just not in the right position so they move them around instead of letting them go.

Cons

Not very competitive with salary anymore and are out of touch with technology
