Good work and life balance. Multiple locations in DC metro area. Flexible working hours, including telecommuting. Pension, though no longer available to new hires.

Cons

No paid overtime in most cases. Less emphasis on internal software development. Limited budgets for career development, training courses. Career growth in technical domain limited, very few level 5 and above positions. Benefit costs are high. Salaries not as competitive.

It's a very big corporation with lots of people, so if you're really smart and work hard, you will climb the corporate ladder fairly quickly.

Cons

Limited opportunities if you do not have security clearance. Lots of business depends on government, so it's not always the place where the most current/trendy stuff gets made.
