A good place to start a Career, benefits, flexible schedules, and a good atmosphere.

Pros

Their 9-80 schedule is very nice. The hours are usually quite flexible, and many people seem to enjoy doing there job. Management is understanding and flexible on work-life balance. Jobs are not super stressful as they can be with other companies. They still offer Reimbursement for Grad Degrees which is a great perk.

Cons

It can be very difficult to get promotions there, especially now that the government is spending less on military. There are few benefits (basic health coverage, dental, eyemed). No Free Food or other fringe benefits. Management can hinder progress, as the company is top-heavy. Heavy Process based development that doesn't add value. I imagine they will be changing this over the next few years.

Pros

The coworkers with whom you must suffer through become your comrades in the struggle to get through the next day.

Cons

Managers are out of touch with their staff and they refuse to hire people with the skills to actually manage people correctly. It's an "old boy network" and if you don't fit, don't expect to get anywhere. And if you make any sort of wave, get ready to be punished until you are so demoralized and crushed you leave.

Pros

Lockheed Martin offers decent salary and sometimes challenging work. Since many of the jobs are on multiple year government contracts, the positions are usually stable and recession resistant. It's a very large company with lots of divisions. Whatever your interested in, this company is probably doing it somewhere.

Cons

Advancement can be difficult. Since the jobs are on government contracts, your value to the company may be in filling the position you're hired for, not doing something else. It has problems common to many large companies.
