Pros

Challenging work. Good benefits package. Reasonable hours. Projects can be leading edge and the employee community is strong and supportive. A good place to start a career, and very good leadership training programs if you can get in. Above average pay and benefits. Good emphasis on work-life balance and flex time schedule. Company encourages internal transfer to broaden skill base and experiences.

Cons

Lack of organization. Poor management. Communication between management and employees is close to zero. Knowledge sharing and transfer can be difficult if originated from older generation of employees. First line managers are below average in terms of training and qualifications.

Pros

Job stability, job satisfaction, career growth, ability to work on new technology, flexible schedule, good vacation policy, one of the few companies with a pension plan, good co-workers, the company has a good reputation and generally is impressive to say you work for Lockheed Martin

Cons

salaries are below average in Lockheed Martin's effort to reduce labor rates to the government, Lockheed Martin has been posting record profits lately despite also announcing lower then expected pay raises, despite Lockheed Martin's recent success they have been unable to utilize any profits to help employees with rising health care costs, working for a large corporation often gives the impression that the corporation does not care about the employees, Lockheed Martin's excuse is they are no worse than the average, they tout being just average for benefits and salary as if its attractive to employees rather than trying to be better than the competition like they should be

Pros

In my light experience within LM I have been treated fairly, I feel like most work I do is valuable. It also seems to be a good place to work, when a program gets cut, upper management really attempts to facilitate moving employees instead of laying them all off.

Cons

The salaries are not as good as some of the private companies, but the job security is higher than private companies. They also have downsized their masters reimbursement programs a bit.
