Pros

- Work till retirement, solid employment - Some great people to work with - Benefits are exceptional - Flexible work schedule, if position allows it - Better than Boeing

Cons

- Senior management is a mirror of customer structure (inefficiency) - Promotions and company growth dictated by business group, not engineering personnel - Product cycle is 20+ years - No room to venture into other specialties in engineering due to difficulty in moving laterally

Pros

Lockheed Martin offers a very good benefits package, so for a new grad who is looking to pursue an advanced degree, it would be good. The workload is minimal, and the amount of vacation time you get per year is significant.

Cons

There are severely incompetent people working there. Advances are based almost entirely on seniority, and not on productivity. The pay is significantly lower than everywhere else. Other companies look down on employees of Lockheed Martin, knowing that people who work there are generally lazier, so you get locked in as a Lockheed Martin employee for life after about 5 years.
