Pros

Very cool missions, many very smart and hard working engineers that are just good people.

Cons

Jobs are principally tied to government projects, which are not predictable at times and tied to the whims of government decision makers and politicians, e.g. for a couple of years you are asked to sacrifice your work-life balance for the country to delivery urgently needed capability, you are accomplishing the impossible, and then your program is cancelled without cause because a new government official wants something else.

An exceptionally professional organisation with great leadership and plenty of opportunity for personal development. Most definately a respected company to have on your CV.

Cons

American work ethic - sometimes you just feel obliged to go the extra mile and that can become routine. There used to be a glass ceiling for the very senior executive roles if you weren't an American national.
