Pros

Lockheed has a lot of contracts to work on in the DC area. They do a lot of different kinds of work. You can always find the technology you want to work on somewhere within the company. The people are generally great to work with. Working with government types is a great experience. There are an abundance of training options, and the best educational reimbursement I know of in this economy.

Cons

Your work location may change on a whim. You won't always work in the cleanest of facilities. The amount of restrictions you have can become burdensome at times. The pay is low compared to other companies, but there are a lot of opportunities for promotion and growth if you put extra effort into it. There is way to much management. A lot of managers seem to not have a general competency in the technologies they oversee, which is frustrating. Bonuses are awful. Lunches are terrible.

Pros

My small team consists of exceptionally talented and respectful members. My managers are superb, who fight for us team members especially when facing the red tape from high up. The company name has good recognition to it. The HR department does a fine job. I feel very safe and respected at work. I've heard job security is strong here.

Cons

The benefits are sub par, and get cut little by little every year. There is a lot of red tape from corporate. Their promotion/review system is completely broken. The managers are forced to give only a small percent of the team a good review/raise each year. If your entire team performs exceptionally well one year only one or two members are allowed official recognition and a raise for this achievement. This leads to a system which only benefits those who are in line for their next promotion. The raises and performance reviews are entirely based on who's next in line for promotion, not your actual performance. Also, it would be nice if we received bonuses when the company performs well, we don't even get company sponsored annual parties/outings.

Pros

Ability to be surrounded by the service men and women of our country. Ability to work on the military base with relative security and abscence from the general publlic

Cons

Some of the management staff did not have the people skills necessary to deal with the leadership duties of their positions. I believe that any one in those positions need to go through leadership training and prove themselves able to handle difficult situations.
