Pros

Lockheed Martin offered great pay and benefits. They also offered other benefits like helping to pay for college tuition and discounts at certain establishments.

Cons

Lockheed Martin did not have many cons but if I had to pick one it would be job security. Being a contracted employee it was hard to know if we would have a job at anytime because of the government problems.

Pros

Lockheed Martin offers relatively good salary increases. My salary increased nearly $8000 in 3 years. They are deeply ingrained with the customer they support, so opportunities are good.

Cons

September is nervous time. Managers hire contractors (Indian mostly) as inexpensive, good help, then when September comes around they let them go. Always a very sad time of the year as you get to know these people. They don't so much oblige the customer as they bow to them. Even when our client makes decisions that are detremental, we dare say nothing because of fear of losing the contract even though we've had it for 20 years. We recenlty lost the Analysis, Validation and User Experience portions of the contract. I have to wonder if part of the reason is because we never say 'no' when as a 'consulting' company we need to in order to protect the customer from themselves sometimes. They are unwilling to consider moving into the commercial space even though the government contracts aren't what they used to be and it would be beneficial to the company. I think this may come back to bite them later.
