      Opportunities to travel, access to challenging assignments, work with wide variety of technologies and projects, good pay and benefits, generally very intelligent colleagues

      Cons

      Politics, Management Cronyism and Favoritism, Inability to move up, Overly risk-averse and tied to process, generally poor leadership

      I enjoyed my 10+ years at Lockheed Martin

      Pros

      During the first 5 years of my career at LM, the possibilities for career growth were endless. LM was winning government contracts at an outstanding rate and the work was plentiful. I had the opportunity to travel, meet new people and learn a lot about the company.

      Cons

      The remainder of my career was nothing like the beginning of my career. As government contracts slowed down, so did the work available to the employees. LM has an extremely high turn over rate and often I felt as if I were just another employee. Definitely a insider "good old boys" organization.

      Pros

      Pay is above average for the area, however management has always had problems with middle managers staying the course and managing the staff correctly. I've had 7 middle managers in the 5 yrs that I have been here.

      Cons

      Challenges of working here is the travel time required. It's advertised as a percentage in the job req but it's pretty much on demand. If there is a need, then you mudt go. To much time away from family for business travel made it hard to continue.
