Pros

Benefits are great compared to other companies. 40 hours PTO for 'sick' time ever year (use it or lose it), 120 hours PTO accrued throughout the year. 4/10 schedule (every Friday off). Tuition assistance. Depending on department and manager, allocates 40 hours of technical training for whatever new technology you wish to learn.

Cons

Retention is bad depending on team, in the past 6 mo, have seen 6-8 people change teams/companies. Depending on interests work might be lackluster

Pros

Manager was good. They bring a lot of negative aspects of military decision making and management into the office.

Cons

Narrow minded, slow to react, and incestuous

Pros

+401k matches are great. +Pay is decent. +Flexible hours are solid (though managers obviously prefer those who stick to the standard 9-to-5 or earlier as it gives them more opportunities to watch everything that you do).

Cons

-Salary raises are no longer based on achievement. They're determined by your level. As such, there isn't much of a drive to achieve like it was before 2020. -Salary bonuses are determined by your sector's earnings, not your individual performance. -Not much room for growth. Managers are not willing to help you out (Level 1 and 2 employees are left in the dust). -Office Politics. -Ergonomics suck (chairs break, no wrist pads, standing desks require a doctor's note, etc.). -Limited work from home opportunities (most positions that offer remote work are only part-time remote, part-time in office). All in all, Lockheed Martin has become a workplace where there's a higher attrition rate of newer talent due to the workplace environment favoring the "old guard". Only apply here if you are already a senior employee with tons of work experience as they don't develop you much.

Pros

Decent work place just like any other balanced organizations if you are not just average joe going to work - good if you want to sit back and BS Some level of exposure and recognition that you work in large organization. Most managers are decent and helpless (often you may get toxic, grudge holding managers)

Cons

If you are not in right people club, you are sidelined and no opportunities to grow. The organization is pleaded with age. sex, race discrimination. They wont even offer an interview or consider applications for internal transfer. When asked to a recruiter why you were not considered the job - you will get answers like (1) that job had a candidate in mind or (2) they had a better suitable candidate. When you review whom they hired, it will be someone much low skills and much lower level experience. There is nothing you can do about it. The job and pay depends on how well you are friends with VP or manager. You will see your juniors get past with promotions year after year. People say they made a VP angry and their career is shutdown when they apply for fellow. But the organization talks about as if they care about ethics. They care about ethics for promoting their own personal grudges. People say every one is made equal except few who are special. Sr leadership have unfair advantage and use it for curbing skills if they don't like you - you can see their personal bias and you cant do anything about it. Getting recognized and appreciation from managers are rare unless you are one in the club. Directors and VPs don't investment in employee passion or promotional path causing low quality employees and high attrition and losing the quality in products. Just gets frustrating to feel you are stuck even though you can see you are good. when it comes to innovation, organization keeps talking about how to have a best product but never invest in the process of growing it. All leaders wants to play it safe and discuss constantly on best new world. Nothing really happens. The work is mediocre and lots of roadblocks and favoritism. No leadership but a lot of poor management

Pros

Very relaxed work schedule and full remote. Junior developers are more helpful than seniors. Seniors were dinosaurs Flex 4x10 is the best thing here. Every Friday off.

Cons

Upper management / Senior leaders. Senior leaders focus solely on their project (this is how they got to their position). There is no empathy if your manager placed you on 3+ projects. You're gonna get worked to the bone at LM ATL. If you're lucky enough to be on just standalone 1 project, you've won the lottery. Pretend to be busy. Promotions are mostly stagnant unless you're at the Cherry Hill office where the managers are. If not, you successes will get no visibility. If you do get promoted to senior engineer, you have to be OK with 3% raises every year for the next 15 years before you are considered for managerial! Quarter of the staff that work here have been there for 15+ years and they are only L4. The management is filled with "its not about the pay, it's about helping the warfighter". BTW, we don't get mandatory Veteran's Day + Labor Day off! If any of that entices you, make sure you're good at writing because you will be working hard and spending 60+ hours a week getting that next proposal win so your team looks good at the next lab's all hands!!

Pros

- World-class talent that I get to work with - All my managers have been excellent - 4/10 schedule gives 3 day weekends when you don't have to work overtime

Cons

- Overtime is relatively frequent - Palmdale isn't exactly the pinnacle of work locations - overall compensation package is a few percent behind competitors
