Pros

Good Benefits Time off for Christmas Flexible work hours (depending on position) Upper management is working to change the culture for the better.

Cons

Union workforce Institutionalized employees I have not seen any cons that are serious enough that they should dissuade anybody from applying. The company has really improved in recent years.

Pros

Through merger Earned Value Management has become top priority for upper management

Cons

Tough to get promoted and not the most opportunity unless you have atleast 2.5 years experience.

Pros

Worked with very understanding staff. Many projects have engineers coming and going at different stages so they're used to explaining the finer points of a project. Very open about the options for upward and lateral mobility for an employee to find their best role. The Internship program really worked to provide face time with upper management and lunch & learn opportunities.

Cons

I would have liked to say I learned more technical skills. The building I worked in didn't have very good ventilation. I didn't know what section or projects I was going into until the first day.

Pros

Great benefits and smart people to work with. Had great experience with managers that cared and work life balance.

Cons

Not an innovative environment. Does not invest in employee skills. You don't get a warm fuzzy that upper management cares. Slowly becoming a body farm workhouse where you are just a number.

Pros

Very large company. If you perform well, you have the ability to move all around the world with the right opportunity. You can switch business areas and have very different experiences for those with the itch. Salary is competitive. Great people to work with. Lots of incredibly smart folks surround you. Every other Friday off is absolutely amazing. Work/life balance is good.

Cons

Your work environment experience greatly depends on the contract you are working and the manager you work for. Unfortunately, it can sometimes feel like you're working for a different company when you switch market segments (products). This can result in a lot of hit or miss experiences depending on who you speak with. Another con is the size of the company. Although it comes with pros as mentioned previously, the size makes it difficult to get the appropriate visibility to upper management. This can result in the staff having high turnover to find the right opportunity to shine. There are lots of smart, hungry, and young professionals searching for that promotion and not all of them get the chance to move up quickly.

Pros

Its a fortune 100 company. Looks good on a resume. Opportunity worldwide. Had a comprehensive savings plan and school reimbursement (which was awesome, but I did not take advantage of it because I was leaving)

Cons

Constant sales training for customer service tech positions was not helping at all. Upper management just didn't know what was in their own contract so "help desk guy to do help desk stuff" just wasn't enough to really show solid performance.

Pros

If you're part of the good ol' boys/girls club, you'll fit right in.

Cons

Upper level management can be blind to the complaints/issues of line management because they don't talk to the staff under the line manager about staff issues/concerns. Line management takes credit for work that their staff completed. And internal positions are often filled by line managers selecting their friends for open positions instead of posting the job internally.

Pros

Large company, lots of available jobs. Some great bosses at the program level. Widespread contracts, gives you exposure to many different clients

Cons

Upper management doesn't care about programs. Upper management always looks to downgrade exceptional employees in reviews and bonuses. Too "old school" believing that people with more experience deserve promotions over younger, more versatile employees with more current experience. You're simply a number when it comes down to it. Salary is kept low for younger workers and balloons dramatically as you get older, regardless of competency.
