      Pros

      Lowe's is a good place to work if you like a rather structured atmosphere. Some of the corporate policies could be questioned, but this is true with any large company. Often employees are promoted from within the company to higher positions, and they have very strong training programs. I started out as low as you could be and within two years I was a Team Leader and knocking on the door of being a Department Manager.

      Cons

      The biggest reason to avoid working at Lowe's is their lack of communication. Upper management does a very poor job of talking with their employees and really explaining what needs to be done. There are also managers that get promoted that have no business being in the position they're in. Little recognition is given to the employees that work underneath them and in many cases save them from losing their jobs.

      Pros

      Good work atmosphere, general sense of camraderie throughout store. Excellent chance for career advancement for motivated people.

      Cons

      Rotating schedule is tough for many people to cope with. Also, job is more physically demanding than most people think. Heavy employee turnover, but probably no worse than others in same industry. Training for job advancement is poorly executed.
