Pros

Lowes has a fast track program that if you show enough promise you can be promoted fairly rapidly, promotions are usually accompanied by a small 10% pay increase and a massive work load increase.

Cons

Company in the last decade has taken a severe down turn. Has soon as Robert Niblock took over this company they became penny squeezing corporate conglomerate. Long shifts for very poor pay. Recently all commision and spiff pay outs were discontinued so you can't make a decent living anywhere in this store. Senior management in most stores is hired externally so they have little or no clue what they are doing.

Pros

Flex time is good to balance work and personal life. Thats about all.

Cons

They always start people a level below where their skill set is. For instance someone who was a Director previously would come in as a Manager. Don't expect to move around in the company. Whatever department you start in is where you will remain. They are slow to give promotions. Average wait time is 3 to 5 years. Company mindset is male driven. If you don't like sports, racing, or Appalachin State you won't do well here. They claim you have educational benefits then say there is no money to pay for it when you want to use the benefit.

Pros

Great place to learn about home improvement and home improvement products Great to learn customer service

Cons

Horrible benefits especially for part-time, pay was low, have to wait 6 months before moving departments, corrupt and unprofessional management. They treat you like youre stupid, inferior, and a joke. Even if you try to offer advice or share an opinion they never take it into consideration. Open door policy is a joke. They dont solve problems well, you're treated like a child. A lot of gossiping, they dont care about how good of a job you do they only care about how much you can suck up to them. If they dont like you theyll make sure you dont succeed even if youre one of the better workers. They nitpick over small stuff and never acknowledge the big issues. Its like they live in an alternate reality to the real business world of today. They don't understand what good customer service is, how to treat employees, or how to run a successful business.
