The RTO policy is a major problem. While initially framed as 4 days in office with continued flexibility, it has been rolled out as a more strict 32 hour in office requirement which is tracked weekly using a dashboard. Your dashboard must be green at the end of the quarter. Days must be made up if time is missed for illness or caregiving even when remote work is possible. This feels demeaning and inflexible. For professional parents and caregivers, it creates unnecessary stress and distracts from the actual work. Roles that involve late-night calls or weekend/international travel are still expected to meet the rigid requirements with no allowance for recovery time to ensure their dashboard stays green. The dashboard does give you 3 extra grace days per quarter to account for extenuating circumstances. This policy takes without giving back. The messaging from leadership is blunt: If you don't like it, find another place to work.
On top of RTO, some executive comments in townhalls or staff meetings have been off-putting and insensitive, which further errodes the trust in leadership.
