Pros

- High margins, great products that save people's lives - Fast growing market - Great location (although parking is a big issue)

Cons

- HR function is non-existing in the organization. Issues that should be solved by HR is continuously pushed to managers or remain as is ... - Working managers who do not know how to lead and develop people. There is no management training. Managers are not held accountable to train and build their teams -No work-life balance... perception matters more than actual productive work - There is 1/2 the workforce that works hard, and the other collects the paycheck - The executive leaders have so much ego; they do not want to be open and transparent with their people. They keep the distance from employees - Talent development and retention is a joke. The performance review activities are just "check the box" activity. Managers are so overworked that they do not have time for it. Employee engagement and morale is low. No opportunity to get promoted internally, they always find talent from outside - There is lack of investment in continuous improvements, almost every project is under-resourced and gets nowhere. There is lack of focus - Some poor acquisitions, poor integration, and execution of strategy

Pros

Medtronic is general is an excellent company. But Medtronic Singapore Operations is a pathetic place to work. 1) Benefits are one of the best 2) You get to work with some amazing products that has a great impact on human life.

Cons

1) Management is totally Lost. They just need to over write one another's decisions. None of them takes responsibility for what they asked the people to do. Engineers are not allowed to do anything on their own and just follow instructions from management even though data shows what they ask you is not right. 2) Senior Quality Manager has NO Technical background. Hence she cannot make any sound decisions on Technical matters. 3) HR Department is extremely weak. They are not supposed to make any decisions. They follow what Management ask them to do. 4) High Turn Over rate (About 15 - 18 employees resign within 2 months)
