Pros

It is a great company to work for. The product is amazing and customers and partners love it which makes your job all the more rewarding! It is also a place where you are encouraged to bring ideas to the table. Leadership is approachable and there are lots of activities to encourage collaboration and employees well being.

Cons

The expectations around growth are not always realistic. Meraki is great and it keeps growing but expecting the same growth % on different territories and with different resources is not realistic.

Pros

* Supportive of family, health, and professional-development leave * Real commitment to training and mentoring full-stack programmers; will broaden your skills * Social environment provides soft landing for people new to the Bay

Cons

* Peter Principle in effect for promotions from engineering to management - some great engineers who don't know how to manage end up in leadership

Thank you for your feedback. We strongly believe that, without the right people, our company will not thrive. This is why we invest heavily in the growth and development of our employees and offer support both in and out of the workplace. We pride ourselves on the work we do to create a culture where everyone feels welcomed. We’re so glad to hear that it’s working.

Pros

- Free food in the office - Nice view - Simple product to deploy and configure - Lots of snacks and sweets

Cons

I've been working at Cisco Meraki support team for about 2 years. As an Indian, I talk to other Indians in the office in my mother language (Hindi) during my break or lunchtime. However, once when I was talking to my Indian colleague at my desk during lunch, I was interrupted by my manager (Who doesn't understand Hindi) and they ask us "What are you two talking about?". At first, I thought they are just curious because they don't understand the language; but this happened to other Indians in the team and they were questioned why they speak in Hindi with each other. A few days later, they re-arranged everyone's desks in the team and didn't let any Indians sit next to each other. When I asked the reason for the new arrangement, I was told "this encourages everyone to speak in English so we can work better together". That worried me a lot and raised my concern in my one-on-one meeting with my manager, but I was told this is a decision made by the senior management and it's a done deal.

Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. At Meraki, all of us are responsible for stewarding our culture of inclusion and collaboration. We pride ourselves on being actively conscious of the impact we have on those around us and are constantly working to be a place where each and every one of us can bring our whole, authentic selves to work. As such, we would never discourage ANYONE from speaking in their native language. Additionally, all of our decisions regarding our office environments are done with the goal of fostering communication, collaboration, and teamwork for everyone across the organization. We have raised your concern to our senior leadership, but also encourage you to reach out to our ethics team, which you can do safely and confidentially. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. Your feedback helps raise awareness and makes us all better Merakians.
