Amazing opportunity to work on literally the biggest products in the world. Launching products to billions of people like it's no big deal. 30 million people is a "small test." The people are incredible smart, creative, thoughtful and collaborative. Amazing suite of internal tools to foster collaboration and information sharing.
Cons
It truly is a social network. Everyone wants a say in everything. People tend to guard their tiny piece of the pie zealously. Be prepared for a zillion stakeholders on everything. Executives regularly drop 11th hour feedback bombs. Particularly on the marketing team, strategic shifts happened every 6 months like clockwork. By the time we implemented one strategy, higher ups had already moved onto the next one. Hard to actually apply any learnings. With the pivot toward the metaverse, all other products will gradually take more and more of a backseat. If you're not all-in on VR, don't join Meta.
