Pros

Everyone is pretty smart and motivated. There's a lot of senior ICs and leadership that is involved with growing their teams, orgs, and individuals they work with. I've seen a lot of initiative come out of my peers and a very blameless culture. It's very proactive in nature but in many ways there are draw backs.

Cons

Imposter syndrome can be prevalent as a lot of people are extremely qualified with a lot of incumbent/existing knowledge for someone that may be new to the company, culture, engineering environment, and "socially-driven" Workplace.

Pros

I have been very pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy working at Facebook. It took a friend many months to convince to apply, but I am so glad I finally listened. I finally found a company that treats me like a valued asset, pays well, takes care of my benefits, my health (physical and mental), and provides a supportive team environment with opportunity to grow. I have autonomy, flexibility, and lots of responsibility given to me. I feel like my teammates and managers care about me as a person. As someone passionate about sustainability and the environment, I am also very pleased with Facebook's commitment to sustainability (ie: powering all offices and data centers with renewables).

Cons

There is overall a lack of process and procedure at FB. It surprises me how much the company still runs likes a start up. It's easy to get lost in all the tools, wiki's, information repositories, etc. You have to be willing to dig in and fix problems, propose solutions, and get your hands dirty, if you want to see anything change. Sometimes managers are not clued in how best to support their people (many young/new managers), so you have to be comfortable asking for what you need.
