Pros

Pay Benefits Teams Remote working

Cons

They are using AI to replace whole teams and expect you to basically train AI to do your job. They hired 20+ people in December to start a new team and then laid every single one of us off in May even though the team was thriving and overachieving. We had no way of knowing we would all be laid off. They sang our praises and made us feel secure only to then lay us off. Till today we still don’t have a clear understanding of why. They promised to help us get new roles within the company but made 0 efforts too. I received basically no support and was strung along until my last day at the company. Absolutely terrible experience. I would not recommend accepting an offer from Microsoft right now. They don’t know what they’re doing and you’ll probably get laid off in 6 months time.

Pros

The culture is pleasing and the people are wonderful. We work on interesting projects and get the pay/benefits/equity to match.

Cons

Few cons to mention - if anything, the progress can be slower than a startup or smaller business with more opportunity for career growth.

Pros

The benefits are good, I felt that my salary was good, and I had the opportunity to work with a lot of talented people from all over the world.

Cons

Prior to 2014, the stack ranking system made performance reviews very stressful. You may have found yourself doing extra projects unrelated to your primary job function just to stand out from your peers for performance ranking time.
