Management needs a shake up

Pros

Amazing company to work for, tech, gadgets, facilities, travel, opportunity etc.

Cons

Manager drove me out, I was a top performer until we got a new manager. From day one she had it in for me, not sure why as my previous manager was supportive, open, gave great feedback and constructive feedback. A pleasure to work for. The new one was backstabbing, sarcastic, unsupportive and a downright bully. I was singled out and no matter what I did, it was wrong. Even though I hit revenue target of 159%, had amazing customer feedback and my colleagues all got on well with me. In the end I left because of her, she made me feel ill. It got to the point where I had physiological issues with the thought of going to the office. I would feel anxiety, not be able to sleep, just wondering what she would pick on with regards to my performance on that day. I left my manager, not my company. I'd been there over 10 years, until she came along. She mentioned my salary numerous times, so I suspect that I earned more than her and she didn't like it?? But there's no excuse for bullying and ever changing goal posts. Shame on HR and Microsoft for not being supportive.

Selfish, arrogant, inexperienced middle managers

Pros

charitable company. Pockets of good people--individual contributors

Cons

Bad politics; inexperienced selfish middle managers; if your manager does not like you; you are done. No notice; no corrective action plans to work toward a solution--you are done. Company was family oriented but that has changed over the last 3.5 years.
