Pros

* Good pay * Good benefits * Good work/life balance * Some good products * Lots of opportunities for growing and learning.

Cons

Microsoft is weighted down by being a big bureaucracy. Merit is measured on a set of fixed metrics ("commitments"), but these are very often set by management regardless of reality or common sense - very often these are contradictory and plain nonsense. Also, product vision is generally speaking pretty bad, and there is little innovation going on - everything is based on who you know, and decisions are often made without understanding the broader impact.

Pros

Great benefits. no other place can compare. As long as you are a top performer, the compensation package is excellent!

Cons

Sometimes it feels too big! too many organizations, too many levels, yet it feels kind of flat as many levels seems hollow and without purpose.
