Pros

- MuleSoft has a very friendly and welcoming air that permeates from the executive level on down. - Very aggressive compensation structure that focuses on sales reps that are able to perform quickly and consistently. - When first starting, MuleSoft put me in a position to be successful very quickly, as well as providing resources to be come proficient on the very difficult technical aspects of the sale. - Very little micromanagement taking place for the field sales organization. MuleSoft is very deliberate in who they hire. They follow through with this by giving you the flexibility your experience warrants, while also holding you accountable to execute. - Overall, I have been very happy with the transition to MuleSoft, the compensation, their ability to help facilitate the closing of sales (executive engagement), and the company culture.

Cons

- MuleSoft sells a very technical product, which can lead to a very technical sale and discussion. - Due to this technical complexity, it can be difficult to tie the low level technical benefits to high level business drivers. - Since MuleSoft is not as big as some software companies (Oracle, IBM, Salesforce, etc), some processes are not yet defined, which can lead to internal confusion when trying to move quickly during a sales cycle. (At times this also means less red tape).

Pros

- Free lunch three days a week - Cool office

Cons

- TERRIBLE work life balance. This would be alright if the job evolved and work were interesting. See following points for details. You will work into the night several times per month - Ideas spawned within teams are quashed by upper management. It seems backward, but in-line with big bureaucracies, that people far from the day-to-day determine the solutions to problems. - When I started everyone on my team pursued skills to make operations smoother and more accurate. Now team members are a success if they learn the basics, and aren't challenged to do more. - You are a cog in the wheel. I was hired with the promise of improving processes and tools. The company doesn't keep up with hiring and as a result the menial, time consuming tasks take up more of the day. This leads to less tool building, and ever more manual processes. Creativity quashed, efficiency decreasing. -- Promotions within take as long as the hiring process. Indeed you may have the degrees and projects to show your worth, but in the end showcasing that you can be a good cog is more important than your breadth of knowledge or ability to create - The view management has of the company seems out of line with reality. The company has aggressive hiring goals, but people leave at a fairly rapid pace.

MuleSoft Response

MuleSoft employees have a strong sense of pride for being a part of the team, share our successes and look forward to taking us to the next phase. It looks like your experience here has been less than stellar. I would like to help change that. To put things into context, MuleSoft is one of the fastest growing enterprise software companies. We are a rare success story in the technology arena. We see this as a validation of our products and vision in the marketplace. We take pride in the caliber of our team and set the bar really high. This is also true for operational functions and that’s for a reason: Building an efficient operational cadence and rigor is critically important as the company prepares for each new stage of growth. Understandably, supporting MuleSoft’s phenomenal growth while at the same time building new processes and paving roads for the company is a demanding job. That’s why we hire the best and hiring the best takes time. We have a process focus in everything we do and welcome any ideas to improve the way we operate. Please reach out to me directly. My door is always open and I'm intent on making sure our team is well supported in all areas possible.

Pros

- Super transparent company, leadership will answer any question and are really open about company progress and even open about where there are areas that need improvement - Addressing a big problem in IT - Unlimited vacation, free lunches

Cons

- Its not clear they know what really matters to engineers, but they are trying there's a small engineering space in the office now and hackathons - There are a lot of unhappy people and management just pretend its not going on so good people just leave a killer product manager an a strong marketing person just vanished - The company has lost its mojo and no amount of happy hours or fitness specials are going to get it back
