Pros

1> No upper limit on paid holidays (?) 2>Optional PF contribution. 3>Low variable pay (5-8%) 4>Decent onsite opportunity if you keep the VP happy. 5>Central office location.

Cons

Loads.... 1>Micromanagement my those sit in management positions but have no clue of "management" nuances. 2>You cannot call outside the office (even local in Pune) from desk phones! Security policies cited as reason, can you believe it! 3>You cannot send mail to domains outside Vertexsoft. So forget communicating with friends or anyone outside Vertex. Personal mails like Gmail and yahoo are blocked long ago. 4>Internet is severely restricted like China :) Company is so insecure that any site having mention of "jobs" is blocked so that employees (read poor Gitmo inmates) cannot escape. 5>HR is totally redundant. is complete stooge of the delivery management. Never ever sound escalation to the HR, it will get routed to the same management that is responsible for the grievance. 6>many policies(?) that are not mentioned in any charter/manual are left to the discretion (?) or autocracy of the management.

Pros

Professional Experience coupled with the opportunity of working with very talented people. This gives one the opportunity for proactive development and good networking.

Cons

The company is not that competitive in terms of salary and benefits. They also have a habit of keeping one on contract for extended periods of time....my guess is that it makes termination easy.

Pros

Depending on the VP, there is flexibility with the work/life balance. Those w/a lot of experience tend to get onto interesting projects in interesting roles.

Cons

The only people who are successful at Revere Group are those with 15+ years of experience. These are the only people who can move up, get bonuses and fair pay raises, because Revere does not need to "teach" them any skills. The next person who could be successful is someone who has at least 3-5 years professional experience, but who has never done consulting before. Revere is a good starter company, in that sense. However, that person should not stay for too long, as they will fall prey to what others have indicated in their reviews - no ability to move up, you may learn some new skills, but that will stop after a while. It is incredibly difficult to break out into the next level and really grow your career. The person who should never work at Revere is the fresh college grad. You will learn some Revere-specific skills, but will not move up in any acceptable period of time. Go find another consulting company to start out at, or begin in industry. Their main interest is only the bottom line and they are a body shop.
