Pros

- Awesome place for your first job if you are inclined to stay in the hardware device drivers domain - You can interact with top employees of NVidia across the world, learning tons from them in the process. - Top-notch code base, and the code review process is very rigorous, thus helping you hone your skills.

Cons

- Pretty easy to get stagnated in the same role after about 2 years - Managers in Pune are not tech-savvy in general, and would go with the prevailing opinion of their superiors instead of basing decisions on technical details. - To get any meaningful work done, you'd have to work in the same time zone as the HW/SW engineers in Santa Clara, but would still be expected to be seen in office during day time.

Pros

Great place to work at, smart people developing industry leading technology. Many of the folks at Nvidia are at the top of the industry in their respective fields. You are always surrounded by the best engineering talent around.

Cons

Work/life balance can be a bit of a pain. Between being a global workforce, and the goal of speed-of-light execution, you can expect some weekend and night work during hardware bring up.

Fair amount of individual latitude

Pros

Fairly wide latitude into how things are done at the individual level. Informal relationships/structures. Leave policy is very flexible. Recently much improved vision benefits. Very visionary CEO.

Cons

Decision making on flows tends to be optimized within functional groups as opposed to across functional groups where better overall efficiency can be achieved. Perceived wall between management and non-management (or a select few) in terms of insight and input into decision making, strategic direction. Small 401-k matching by company.
